Truck rollover shuts down busy Toronto highway, backs up traffic
It’s been a slow crawl for motorists along a stretch of Hwy., 401 in Toronto Escort Agency after a tractor-trailer rolled over.
Provincial police say a westbound truck crashed into a dividing barrier (just east of Yonge Street) and flipped over around midnight, spilling its load of particle board.
The driver has been charged with careless driving.
The crash forced the closure of the express lanes from Hwy., 404 to Allen Road.
The collector lanes are open but sluggish as people slow down to take a look at the wreckage.
No injuries are reported, but wet, icy weather has delayed the cleanup.
